The UT Tower
One of the most recognizable landmarks on campus is The UT Tower, a 307-foot tower that can be seen from all over Austin. Dedicated in 1937, the tower was originally built as an observation deck and housed the school's astronomy department until it closed in 1999.
Today, the UT Tower is open to visitors who want to take in 360-degree views of the city and surrounding hills.
